Awakening

I've been working on this painting for the past two months, and have just now gotten it to a point where I'd call it near completion; though that's no guarantee that I wont make more changes.

This piece was actually painted over a painting final for school, which was on 4'x5' slab of birch plywood. I ended up cutting that in half and using the old painting (which was an incredibly geometric abstract painting) as the structure for the composition.

Lots of glazing and turp drips over thick palette knifed oil paint.
